Update 1.3: ASTROLAB Competitions Fees & Rewards

In our previous article, we gave a gameplay overview of Astrolab Competitions. Now, we are excited to share more details about the fees, rewards, and competition schedule for the month of May.

In Astrolab, players compete to collect as many gems as possible within 10 minutes, aiming to achieve a high score that will earn them a place on the leaderboard. The competitions can be fixed gear or non-fixed gear, with May’s events focusing on fixed-gear Competitions. Players are given 5 attempts to complete a level, with the duration of competitions varying from 24, 48 to 72 hours.

To share more information regarding the competitions, we’ll be delving deeper into the breakdown of the costs involved in participating in Astrolab’s May events, as well as the exciting rewards that players can look forward to.

Entry Fees

Entry fees will be paid in DAR, and will range from 2.5 DAR to 10 DAR, depending on the competition.
In the future, entry fees can change or even require additional resources aside from DAR, but for the May competitions, DAR will only be required.
Mines of Dalarnia will utilize entry fees as follows: 10% will be taken out as tax before it reaches the prize pool, with these funds going to the MoD tax wallet. The remaining 90% will be held by the competition contract to be claimed after the competition is over. The more players that join the competition, the higher the total prize pool will be.

Rewards

Many competitions will feature guaranteed prize pools. For the month of May, the total prize bonus is over 20,000 DAR, which means that there will be ample opportunities for players to win big.
The standard prize pool distribution will reward the top 20% players on the leaderboard. Therefore, the higher your position on the leaderboard, the greater your reward will be. At certain competitions the amount of rewarded players might differ.
The Prize Pool of each competition will be equal to 90% of all buy-ins + any additional Prize Bonus for that competition (not all competitions will have added Prize Bonus).

Example: Distribution for 1000 DAR Prize Bonus, 5 DAR buy-in and 100 participants

Players must also have a score greater than 0 to be counted on the leaderboard or included for prizes.
Prizes must be claimed within 30 days after the completion date of the competition, or they will not be eligible for the reward.

Note: Thursday is patch day so there will be no competitions held on Thursdays.

Questions and Answers

Can I try again after 5 attempts?

Ans: No, you only have 5 attempts to complete a level.

2. What if my game crashes in the middle of the competition?

Ans: Your score will be 0 and it will not appear on the leaderboard, and you’ll lose one of your attempts. Players must have a score greater than 0 to be counted on the leaderboard or included for prizes.

3. What if my first score was higher, will the second overwrite it?

Ans: No, it won’t be overwritten if your previous score was higher.

4. What if I won’t be able to do all 5 attempts?

Ans: Your score will still be recorded in the leaderboards despite not being able to do 5 attempts.

5. I signed up for a competition but didn’t have time to play. Can I get a refund?

Ans: No, there will be no refunds.
