Mines of Dalarnia 2.0 Playtesting Report (also inviting more testers!)

On March 4th, we announced the launch of 2.0 Testnet and onboarded our first 200 users. With testing now in full swing, we thought it would be a great time to give the community a short update!

The Onboarding Process

When applicants are whitelisted, they are added to a special section of our Discord server dedicated to the testing process. The channels in this section provide onboarding instructions, a general chat, a bug report channel, and a general feedback and suggestion channel. The COO of Workinman Interactive, Keith McCollough, is a regular sight in the channels as he interacts with testers and collects the valuable feedback that is helping the development team polish and improve the product each and every day.

Users who are onboarded to the game must complete two steps: connecting to the BSC testnet (currently handled through mobile), and installing Mines of Dalarnia on their PC. Integration between the blockchain and the gameplay are handled through a few clever mechanics.

The progress of a character is tied to the crypto wallet used. When a new crypto account connects to the game, the user performs an straightforward initial setup establishing the permissions needed for the game and the blockchain to work together.

Once this setup is complete, gameplay interruptions are almost nonexistent as crypto wallet transactions occur before and after entering a mine, giving players the ability to fully focus on the task at hand while on mining runs.

The Gameplay Experience

Early feedback from testers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many testers commenting on the dramatic jump in quality of both the graphic and sound design of the new version. Epic music, vibrant colors and more complex interaction with the environment all contribute to a Dalarnia that is more immersive than ever.

Updated Versions

At the time of writing, three version updates have already been released — with many more to come on a regular basis. The vision for the testing round is to be agile, continuously improving and pushing frequent updates on the road towards mainnet launch in late April.

Expanding the Tester Base

The team has made the decision to expand the tester base by sending out the next round of invitations. Newly selected testers will have access to the private testnet channel and be tagged there to be notified. If you have not been selected, don’t worry, more testers will be onboarded with time, so stay tuned :)
