Just Keep Building: A Message from the Mines of Dalarnia Team

Hello, Miners!

Given the uncertainty in the market this month, we understand that many community members are feeling anxious. We would like to take the time to assure our community that development is moving forward on schedule regardless of market conditions.

Development is on track, updates are on the way!

We are pleased to report that we are on track to meet our goal of delivering Mines of Dalarnia 2.0 (with the use of real DAR tokens) by the end of Q1. This is commonly referred to as ‘mainnet’, but this is a bit of a misnomer as Mines of Dalarnia is not launching its own standalone network. Our plan is to launch using Binance Smart Chain to handle DAR and NFT transactions, while using Chromia on the backend to store other game related data. After Chromia’s mainnet launch, we will begin a migration process that will consolidate all functionality and NFT assets onto their network. By using this transitionary model we can ensure that the game can launch as soon as it is ready, helping us to meet our launch goal.

Marketing

Coming back from holidays, we have been focussed on developing and testing the game as our top priority. In general, we feel that the bulk of our marketing resources will be best deployed when overall market sentiment is more favorable, and the product is available for people to use. We also understand that people like to see frequent development updates, teasers, screenshots, etc. and we will make an effort to provide these for the community at regular intervals between now and 2.0 launch.

Land Sale

As a team, we are aware that the first Mining Plot Sale did not go as smoothly as it could have. Rest assured that we have used the experience of the first sale to improve the contract code as well the connection between the contract code and the front end user interface. This will ensure that future events run more smoothly.

In addition, we understand that there was some confusion in terms of how many plots were available in the land sale (the actual number was 1040). For future events we will clearly outline these parameters in the initial announcement.

Mining Ape NFT Holders

We are currently in the planning stages of a Land Sale event that will offer Mining Ape NFT holder exclusive plots, as well as additional plots for the general public. Also, prior to the launch of the game we will be airdropping the Mining Pass NFT that will grant full access to Mines of Dalarnia 2.0 to our Mining Ape holders, free of charge. Thank you for being pioneers of our community!

Project Management and Sustainability

Lastly, we would like to discuss project management and assure the community that the Dalarnia team is here for the long term and committed to delivering, updating, and maintaining a quality product for years to come. The project held both a private sale and an IFO before launching, raising over $3.5M USD. Our finances are managed responsibly, with operating budgets and a long term plan to ensure that the project has several years of runway regardless of market conditions. While we cannot control the market, we can ensure that we manage our resources responsibly and continue to build the game as set out in our litepaper.

An Exciting 2022

2022 will be an exciting year for Mines of Dalarnia. Having just launched the token in November, we are a young project with all of our most exciting developments still ahead. Here’s what we can look forward to!
